In the beginning
they were only five. Five known senses, and out of those five,
it was eyesight that gave promises of the most intense pleasures,
held the most desirable secrets and felt more like home.
Drawing pictures
just made sense. It was the senses that came afterwards that
made everything hard and complicated. Immersed in exploring
just one of them, these powerful and overwhelming new ones like
hunger, reality, self, death, failure, achievement, and that
annoying sense of reason crept up out of nowhere, taking me
by complete surprise. It's been an everyday battle ever since
keeping all of them at bay, hoping that the good ol' days where
everything was simple with just the two of us, will return.
I know I know...
I should come to my senses.
But what can you
do. You got to have dreams. In fact sometimes it's the only
thing that keeps you going. That, and a good sense of humour.
